The Fall Prospect Series welcomed five new ball clubs this past weekend. Newcomer Knightline 17u from the Youngstown B League stole the show, going 4-0. Another newcomer, the Lake Erie Warhawks 18u (Oberlin, OH) compiled a 3-1 mark along with returning programs Mashfactory Elite 18u and the Stark Co. Terriers 18u. Another newcomer, Ohio Elite 17u split their four games while one of last week's strongest performers, the Ohio Glaciers (Struthers, OH) struggled to a 1-3 record. Newcomer Triple Crown Royals 17u (Columbus, OH) brought loads of talent but ran into some stiff competition, also going 1-3 on the weekend. Youngstown Thunder 16u, another rookie participant, found the going pretty tough at 0-2. The strong-performing Canton Spikes 16u club was challenged this weekend as well (0-2) but the 18u club (1-1) gained some redemption in the weekend's final game by knocking off the talented Lake Erie Warhawks 18u squad behind solid pitching from Tyler Barker (GlenOak '17) and Michael Cook (GlenOak '19). The Series continues this weekend as the Diamond Boys 18u club returns, to be joined by newcomers Ohio Elite 18u, the Triple Crown Royals 18u and the Ontario Athletics 16u from Toronto, Canada. All the action will take place once again at Jackson, Perry and Central Catholic's varsity fields this Saturday and Sunday. See the schedule at www.fallprospectseries.com/wk4games.
